I am so ready for summer vacation to be over for a number of reasons. This used to be my favorite time of year as a teacher, but not any longer as a parent. I promise I won’t vlog all of the time, but I just couldn’t resist today. And yes, I always wear black.

[...] ~ She LOVES swim lessons this year. Last summer, swim lessons were a total nightmare. [...]

LOL! Don’t you live in So. Cal? And doesn’t that mean that the pool is open all the time?
Nor. Cal and YES the damn pool is open all year. However, I won’t be attending.

I’m having flashbacks about my own life in those clips.
And where might I find some of those (really not needed) chocolate bunnies???

Chocolate bunnies are Annie’s brand. I buy at Costco, the variety pack. I know you are so going to buy some! Ha!
omg i just laughed my ass off. at your poor, screaming child. Why? Because i have SO been there! And now my son, at 6 1/2, is an amazing swimmer. But he went through this weird screaming thing and we just waited til the next year.
So maybe I was laughing with her? Because she was laughing inside?

I am the mean mother who did a vlog about it. SO FUNNY! I am just hoping for next year!
HILARIOUS!!!!
She was doing so good at the beginning of the summer.
Yeah bummer. She will swim with me. I think the teacher SUCKED.

Too funny – sorry! This was our first summer of swim lessons and I can see the aversion to it. The screaming, the kids not listening and your own child fearing something one week that was no problem the week before. But what I love most is the parents that view it as babysitting and catch up on Z’s or a good book while their children run amuck!

i used to love going to the pool. no longer. not that it’s not fun to watch my kids enjoy the water and so on, but the mini nervous breakdowns they seem to have every single time we go (or have to leave) makes me want to rip my eyelashes out. love the vlog, rachel! good job editing. i suck at that.

I have mixed feelings about summer ending. I am so tried of kids laying all over my house and staying up all night (I have teenagers) but I also hate the thought of homework starting again.
Stopping by from SITS.

Oh and if we lived closer instead of drinking ice coffee in the afternoon I’d bring over the kids for a playdate and booze for us!

That would be an excellent idea. You need to move back to CA!
Too funny. I wonder what happened to make her so afraid. You guys probably need a break anyway.
Would love for you to add your button to my blogroll page. Stop by for a visit sometime!

Love it Rachel . I couldn’t stop cracking up. She was so upset!! Wow, you are right. Loved how you spliced it together. Great Vlog!! Keep ‘em coming. Bloggy Bootcamp will be where I post my first, with your help of course!
I couldn’t agree more! My biggest Summer issue is sunblock. I’d rather stay inside than get my kids properly greased up. The routine of school, the schedule, the FREE TIME…I can’t wait!
LZ’s last blog Happy Almost Birthday I’m glad it’s not today!
Dude, so feel ya on the sunblock! I hate doing the grease up.
Okay so I’ve been insanely busy this week and unable to read your blog until now, BUT YOU ROCK SISTER!! That video was awesome!!! I was laughing so hard!!! xxoo
It is sad that I am laughing at my child too…oh well!
While my son is only just 2 and a half, I am so ready for all the OTHER neighborhood kids to go back to school, especially the high schoolers. The ones living in the apartment above us always have their friends over until all hours of the night, and I can’t until those little hooligans are busy with homework until 11pm and have to start the day over at 7am the next day! Unfortunately, they still have the weekend to torment me… *sigh*
And I do realize that I sound like a crotchety old woman, but at 24 with a young child, silence while he’s sleeping is GOLDEN!!

I apologize…no wine in this vlog, just iced coffee. Maybe the next one!
LOL! I just stumbled onto your blog, and you are just too funny! I am also ready for school to start, even though I homeschool my two daughters. I am so over the every day of the week playdates, the freaking swimming, the horrible heat (Illinois, ugh), and the lack of a decent routine! Thanks for the laugh, lady

I would be ready for school to start too if I were you! Hell, I’m ready to go back to work for some of the same reasons (though we’ve yet to brave any type of water bigger than a bathtub or teeny kiddie pool
BTW, what photo editor are you using? The one that came with my Flip doesn’t cut it…though you may have an updated version. TELL ME!

OMG LMAO I so don’t mean to laugh! But she was doing so awesome! I can’t get my boys to let go of my arm for even half a second!!
My thought, how is this possible? I was born in Sept and was swimming before I was walking, my youngest? Born in Sept. Still can’t swim and he’s 2!!!
