Sausage & Cheese Appetizer Meatballs

I am going to be totally upfront with you.

This appetizer is not healthy. At all.

However, sometimes you just need to not focus on calorie intake and eat something fattening and delicious.

Like my grandmother’s Sausage & Cheese Appetizer Meatballs.

They are TO.DIE.FOR.

Along with my Mexican Layered Bean Dip, these meatballs are a staple for sporting events like the Superbowl in this house.

Sausage & Cheese Appetizer Meatballs

Ingredients:

8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 lb hot sausage (I use Jimmy Dean HOT sausage)

3 cups Bisquick

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375.

2. Add sausage meat and shredded cheese to large mixing bowl. Using your hands, mix together well.

3. Add Bisquick to sausage and cheese mixture. Mix altogether and roll into 1 inch balls.

4. Bake in oven for 12-14 minutes. At the 7 minute mark, flip meatballs over. Bake for another 6 minutes.

I’m SO going to make these for the Superbowl! I’ve been wanting to try this recipe for ages. You’re right – sometimes you just need something delicious, to hell with the calories!

    Those sound absolutely delicious.

I’m pretending that the jalapeno poppers that I made for myself last night were healthy, because I made them from scratch and I baked them, instead of frying them. I’m fooling myself.

  3. Jen says:

Stop with these recipes… just stop it.

    (Really, don’t they are awesome)

  4. ““Damn,

I’ll skip lunch and make these. I think that works! Look awesome!
